Sweet

I noticed a few months ago that my ability to concentrate (or lack thereof) seemed linked directly to my sugar intake. So I started cutting it out as best I could and in fact started following the Primal Blueprint (mostly).

When I travel, I tend to slip into bad habits. Yesterday I was on the road, and  I didn’t just slip up and have a latte – I pretty much ate nothing but sugar the entire day. Bad, processed sugar in huge quantities, and little else. It was one of those situations where one bad decision sort of paved the way for the next.

Yeah.

Last night I suffered through the worst headache of my adult life. The kind that makes you throw up a few times. The kind that makes you really wonder if death is in fact imminent. I was a bit surprised to wake up this morning, one, because it was so, so difficult to fall asleep against all that pain, and two, because seriously, IMMINENT DEATH.

Today I have a recovery headache, meaning that I’m shaky, queasy, having a little pain, but in general keenly aware of the absence of yesterday’s headache, and I may sound like a college student every Saturday morning, but I swear – never again.
